6-DAY TOUR-FOOTSTEPS OF ST. PAUL-MONASTERIES  OF GREECE & ATHENS TOUR

DAY  1 : Transportation to Greece from Skopje, we will arrive at the biggest town of Northern Greece, Thessaloniki. We will visit early Christian basilica of the city’s patron St. Demetrius and also UNESCO monument. After our check in you will have free time to walk and enjoy the town. Overnight in Thessaloniki.

DAY 2 : On our second day we will reach the town of  Philippi and then Kavala where St. Paul preached his first evangelical sermon and baptized the first Christians in Europe! Visit the Baptistery, where Lydia was baptized, the first Christian of Europe. Finally, we will visit the Ancient Market, Basilica, prison of St.Paul and Theater. Transfer to Thessaloniki and overnight.

DAY 3 : Today we will arrive at the beautiful town of Veria at Northwestern Greece. We will visit the ”Bema of Apostle Paul”, the place Paul preached to the people of one of his beloved towns for many days.  We will continue to the town of Vergina and to the Royal tombs, one of them was Alexander’s the Great father and and king of Macedonia and we will finally arrive to the picturesque town of Kalambaka, next to the amazing monasteries of Meteora. Overnight in Kalambaka.

DAY 4 : We will drive to Meteora  and the breathtaking rock tower of monasteries build from 14 – 16th Century! We will visit two  monasteries and then we will continue to capital of Greece, Athens. Overnight in Athens.

DAY 5 : Today we will wake up in Athens in order to continue following Apostle Paul’s footsteps, starting from the coast of Faliro where Paul first arrived in Athens by ship, we will visit one of the  Church of Holy Apostles in Athens where St.Paul preached and then the ”Mars Hill” where Paul stood and preached to the Athenians. Our tour in Athens continues by visiting the Ancient Market and the Acropolis. Overnight in Athens.

DAY 6 We will visit Paul’s beloved city Corinth, the town that inspired many from Paul’s letters. We will also visit  the ancient Market, Temple of Apollo, the Bema of St.Paul and the museum and we will walk at the same paths that the Apostle of Nations walked and preached hundreds of years earlier. Our next visit will be at ancient town of Mycenae, Gate of Lions and the tomb ”Treasury of Atreus’‘ (UNESCO site). Overnight in Athens.

DAY 7 : Transfer to Athens Airport. Departure. Also transportation can be organised with bus from Athens – Skopje.

Important Information regarding entrance to churches-monasteries:

Both ladies and gentlemen need to avoid bare shoulders or bare legs in order to avoid refusal of entry. For the ladies is better to wear long skirts even if in some cases long skirts are offered during the visit to the certain church-monastery.

HOW TO BOOK:

A non refundable deposit of 300 EUR per person is required at time of booking.

CANCELLATION:

Cancellation charges are as follows:

90 days before departure ………………………………………………………… 40% of the total cost

60 before departure ……………………. …………………………………………..60% of the total cost

30 days before departure ……………………………………………….. 100% of the total cost

FLIGHT TIMES:

All flight times are subject to change with or without prior notice to the passengers. Travel & Tour Operator Balkan Explore does not accept liability for missed connection or any expenses resulting from an off-schedule, rescheduled or late flight operations.

Carry-on-bag /weighting not more than 10 kg/40-30-20

HOTELS: Tour prices are per person, based on two people sharing a room. Single rooms are subject to availability and at an additional cost of 200EUR. (Tour participants without a roommate will have to pay single room surcharge.)
