Mother Teresa born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, (26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997), honoured in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, Roman Catholic nun and missionary. She was born in Skopje (now the capital of Macedonia). After living in Skopje for eighteen years, she moved to Ireland and then to India, where she lived for most of her life.
In 1950, Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation that had over 4,500 nuns and was active in 133 countries as of 2012. It also runs soup kitchens, dispensaries, mobile clinics, children’s and family counselling programmes, as well as orphanages and schools. Members take vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, and also profess a fourth vow – to give “wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor.”
Teresa received a number of honours, including the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.

Guided tour of Skopje city. Walk through the Old and New part over the old Stone bridge that connects both parts of the city. On this tour we will visit Fortress Kale, Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Daut Pasha Hamam, Monuments Filip II and Alexander The Great, St. Demetrius Church, Memorial House of Mother Teresa, who was born in Skopje back in 1910. This elegant and modern structure was built on the location of the once Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, where Mother Teresa was baptised. We will also visit location of her family house where Mother Teresa was born.

After breakfast guided tour to Millennium Cross and Matka Canyon. Millennium Cross one of the biggest crosses in the world was built because of 2000 years of Christianity in the world and in Macedonia. We will visit 12th century Monastery St. Panteleimon. We will continue our tour to the Canyon 20km from Skopje to visit 14 Century ‘Monastery Holy Mother of Jesus’’ and after a nice walk in the nature where 20 % of the plants are unique for only this area in the world we will have a boat tour to one of the deepest underwater caves in Europe.

After breakfast we will start our day trip to Kosovo. We will visit the small village of Vitina the Church of Black Madonna. It is believed that it was here, where Mother Teresa received her calling to dedicate her life to the service of God. Later visit of Pristina, the youngest capital in Europe. Here we will visit the Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa, Boulevard of Mother Teresa and Ibrahim Rugova Square. Among other interesting attractions we will visit Sultan Mehmet Mosque and Ethnological Museum.
Lunch at the restaurant in Pristina. Driving back to Skopje. Overnight.
Mavrovo Lake and National park. Saint Jovan Bigorski Monastery – One of the most important and beautiful monasteries in Macedonia which holds a large collection of Holy relics including John The Baptist, Clement of Ohrid, Lazarus of Bethany, Saint Nicolas and part of the Holy Cross. Later visit of the small village Jance.

After breakfast we will start our trip to Ohrid. Old town of Ohrid has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO due to its typical white houses with wooden shutters, winding streets and prestige of countless works of art. Among many sacral buildings we will visit Cathedral of Saint Sofia and picturesque Church of St.John at Kaneo – symbol of Ohrid and Macedonia.

Overnight in Ohrid.
Tour to St.Naum Monastery located on a rock above Lake Ohrid. The beautiful building is surrounded by green gardens filled with peacocks and crystal-clear waters of the springs.

After breakfast driving back to Skopje. Transfer to Skopje International Airport.
